Virginia Tuition Assistance Grant (VTAG)

The Virginia Tuition Assistance Grant (VTAG), funded by the Commonwealth of Virginia, provides grant assistance to degree-seeking students who are bona fide Virginia residents and who enroll full-time during the regular academic year. (Full-time status is 12 credit hours per term for undergraduate students; nine credit hours for law and graduate students.) VTAG is not available to students enrolled in certificate programs.

The estimated amount for the 2008–2009 school year is $3,200 for undergraduates and $1,900 for law and graduate students.

The VTAG application for the 2008–2009 academic year must be submitted to the Financial Aid Office by July 31, 2008. (VTAG applications may be submitted after the deadline but will only be considered if funding is available for late applications.) Only students not currently receiving VTAG need to submit an application.
