Need-Based Aid
All continuing studies degree and certificate programs are eligible for financial aid consideration, except for the liberal arts and leadership certificate programs and the undergraduate certificate in performance coaching skills. To be considered for loans and grants, students must be enrolled in at least six credit hours.
The Virginia Tuition Assistance Grant (VTAG) provides grant assistance to degree-seeking undergraduate students who are bona fide Virginia residents and who enroll full-time during the regular academic year.
Federal Pell grants are available to students who have not previously received a bachelor's degree and who are enrolled in an undergraduate degree or certificate program for at least three credit hours per term. You must qualify for a Pell Grant under the federal need analysis formula.
Students interested in applying for a Federal Pell Grant must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA should be submitted at least six weeks prior to the start of the term in order for funding to be available by the time classes begin.
