Grants and Scholarships
Several scholarships are available for students who are actively pursuing a planned program of study in the School of Continuing Studies. Scholarship applications are available online or by calling the School of Continuing Studies at (804) 289-8133. The deadline for scholarship applications is July 1 for the following school year.The Virginia Tuition Assistance Grant (VTAG) provides grant assistance to degree-seeking students who are bona fide Virginia residents and who enroll full-time during the regular academic year. Federal Pell grants are available to students who have not previously received a Bachelor's degree and who are enrolled in an undergraduate degree or certificate program for at least three credit hours per term. You must qualify for a Pell Grant under the federal need analysis formula.
Students interested in applying for a Federal Pell Grant must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA should be submitted at least six weeks prior to the start of the term in order for funding to be available by the time classes begin.
