Early Action
U.S. citizens and permanent residents:
It can take several business days for our office to receive application information from Federal Student Aid, the College Board, and IDOC. Our office uses the submission date, not the receipt date, to determine if a student has met the financial aid deadlines.
By November 15, 2024:
- Submit the 2025-26 CSS Profile application to the College Board. Our CSS Profile code is 5569.
- If your parents are divorced or separated, both of your parents must complete separate CSS Profile forms. In this case, each parent has a separate Profile username and password to maintain privacy.
- Submit copies of student and parent 2023 federal tax returns to the College Board’s IDOC Service. IDOC is the College Board’s Institutional Document Service which collects items required by universities like Richmond. The student will receive an email from the College Board approximately 1 to 2 days after submitting the CSS Profile regarding how to submit your tax information. Be sure to submit a copy of all the documents you submitted to the IRS.
No Later Than February 1, 2025:
- Submit the 2025-26 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Our FAFSA code is 003744. The 2025-26 FAFSA will be available in December 2024.
We encourage students to complete our financial aid application process as outlined above in order to be considered for all forms of need-based financial aid and loans available at the University of Richmond. However, students who wish to apply only for federal financial aid must only complete the FAFSA.
- Submit the 2025-26 CSS Profile application to the College Board. Our CSS Profile code is 5569.

Reductions for Late Applications
The University of Richmond's policy is to fully meet the demonstrated need of its students who submit all required financial aid forms by the stated deadline. Students who demonstrate need but fail to meet the deadline will lose a percentage of their need-based grants/scholarships. Therefore, their need will not be fully met. We assess a 10% reduction in need-based grant/scholarship aid for applications received up to two months after the deadline. Applications received more than two months late will receive consideration only for limited federal need-based grants and Direct Loans, but not for any other need-based aid.
Number of days application is late: | Need-based grant eligibility reduced by: |
Up to 60 days | 10% |
61 or more days |
No longer eligible for Richmond need-based grant. Limited federal aid is available. |
