Study Abroad
To help every Richmond student take advantage of International Education opportunities, financial aid is available to students studying abroad provided they meet application deadlines and eligibility criteria, including full-time enrollment while abroad. Full-time status is defined as at least 3.5 units for undergraduate students. The types of aid available will depend on whether the study abroad program is a:
- UR study abroad program during fall or spring term
- UR study abroad during a summer term
- UR Short-term Abroad Program as part of an Academic Course
- Non-UR study abroad program during summer, fall or spring
Financial aid for your study abroad program will be credited directly to your student account at Richmond 10 days before the first day of class at your study abroad program, assuming all applications and requirements are completed by the deadline date.
If the amount of financial aid exceeds your Richmond charges, then you may be eligible for a refund, which can be used for other educational expenses related to your study abroad program. Contact the Student Accounts Office for information on how to obtain a refund.
