  • Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) - available December 2024

    Description

    Application for federal need-based aid and Federal Direct Loan.

    Submit the 2025-26 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Our FAFSA Code is 003744. The 2025-26 FAFSA will be available in December 2024.

  • CSS Profile

    Description

    Application for institutional need-based aid for prospective and returning undergraduates.

    Submit the 2025-26 CSS Profile to the College Board. Our Profile Code is 5569.

  • Federal Direct Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loan

    Description

    Students who have been offered Federal Direct Loans must electronically accept or decline all or a portion of their loans via BannerWeb.

    In order to be eligible for Federal Direct Loan offers, students will first need to submit the 2025-26 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The 2025-26 FAFSA will be available in December 2024

    Upon receipt of your application materials, the Office of Financial Aid will review your application and determine your eligibility for loans. Once the Office of Financial Aid begins releasing award offers, you will receive an award offer notification advising you of your aid eligibility. (This information can also be viewed on your BannerWeb account.) You will then need to follow the instructions below to accept or decline all or a portion of your Federal Direct Loans.

    To accept or decline your offered loans:

    1. First-time borrowers only, complete the Authorization to apply Title IV funds by:

    • Accepting the Authorization of Title IV funds in BannerWeb. To accept your Authorization, follow instructions here.

    2. Accept or decline all or a portion of your Federal Direct Loans via BannerWeb. Instructions for doing so can be found here.

    3. First time borrowers only — complete entrance counseling and sign your Master Promissory Note electronically at studentaid.gov.

    Deadline

    In order to ensure your loans are processed and applied to your account by the first day of class, complete the above loan requirements at least six weeks prior to the first day of classes. If any of the above requirements are completed after that date, aid will be processed but it may not be available by the first day of class.

  • Federal Direct Parent Loan (PLUS) Application

    Description

    The application for a 2025-26 Academic Year Federal Direct PLUS Loan for parents of undergraduate students is completed online at studentaid.gov.

    In order to be eligible for Federal Direct Loans, students will first need to submit the 2025-26 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The 2025-26 FAFSA will be available in December 2024

    Deadline

    In order to ensure your loans are processed and applied to your account by the first day of class, complete the above loan requirements at least six weeks prior to the first day of classes. If any of the above requirements are completed after that date, aid will be processed but it may not be available by the first day of class.

  • Virginia Tuition Assistance Grant (VTAG) Application

    Description

    The Virginia Tuition Assistance Grant (VTAG) is a grant from the Commonwealth of Virginia for full-time, degree-seeking undergraduates who are Virginia residents. Students currently receiving VTAG need not apply.

  • Summer 2025 Federal Direct Loan Application - Available March 2025

    Description

    The 2025 Summer Federal Direct Loan Application should be completed by students who want to apply for a Direct Loan for summer session 2025. The summer loan application will be available in March 2025.

    In order to qualify for Federal Direct Loans, students will also need to submit the 2025-26 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The 2025-26 FAFSA will be available in December 2024.
